loadSSAliases (URL)

Loads speech-synthesis word aliases from a file.

Overview

Loads text-substitution aliases from a UTF-8 file. Each mapping supplies source text and the text to substitute before speech synthesis. Use a colon to separate a source expression from its replacement. Lines beginning with # can be used as comments.

For example, an alias list can map iOS to eye oh ess.

Returns .ssAliasesFileReadFailed if the alias file cannot be loaded.
